Pispisa and the Temple of Segesta

Pispisa and the Temple of Segesta

A07 20 Km 54€ per person
Starting point

Contrada San Giovanni

Mount Pispisa is the highest peak of the ridge that includes the archaeological site of Segesta. The breath-taking route affords panoramic views of Mount Barbaro and a unique view of the temple seen from the rear. After a few metres of state road, we will head for Contrada Scorciagatto, with its rich and dense vegetation, which is always luxuriant thanks to a complex hydrographic network and, between valleys and seasonal streams that will follow us along the forest road, we will reach first the Tenute Pispisa farmhouse and then the Temple of Segesta. After the biking around the Temple, we will return to Contrada San Giovanni pedalling along a stretch of an old railway.
